There are many different sections of the Great Wall. We went to the section of the wall that's in a place called Mutianyu. You have to drive a few hours from Beijing to get there but it's definitely worth it.

We stayed the night in the village of Bei Gou, just beneath the wall. It's in the countryside so it's green and peacefuland the air is fresh.
